Holy cow, it’s been a long time since I posted one of these. There is not an accompanying podcast because I haven’t had time to record. If I have time on Sunday, I will do my best to try to record a review of the show. With that said, let’s get into the predictions.
ALL IN Zero Hour on WGN America
Tag Team Match
The Briscoe Brothers vs. SoCal Uncensored(Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky)
SoCal Uncensored has been getting featured pretty heavily on Being The Elite, so I have to go with my home town boys. I don’t want to say this for a fact, but I think this is one of the biggest audiences that Scorpio Sky has ever performed in front of without being a enhancement talent. So that’s cool. I am looking forward to this match. All four wrestlers are indy wrestling legends, and have been in the business for 20 years each. Though, they do have the hardest job out of anyone else on the card. Their job is to sell the ALL IN PPV to people who may be on the fence, or to somebody who may not know what ALL IN is. So I expect this match to be fast paced, hard hitting, and a hell of a lot of fun.
15-Man Over Budget Battle Royale
Winner faces Jay Lethal for the ROH World Championship Later in the show.
Currently, there are 11 wrestlers announced for the battle royale. Those wrestlers are Jordynne Grace, Moose, Rocky Romero, Colt Cabana, Ethan Page, Current Impact Wrestling X-Division Champion Brian Cage, Billy Gunn, Jimmy Jacobs, Marko Stunt, Brandon Cutler, and Punishment Martinez. So there are currently 4 spots open. Obviously I’m expecting a couple surprises. And no, it’s not going to be CM Punk.
As for my prediction, if you have been following Being The Elite, Flip Gordon has had a storyline going on since they announced ALL IN that he has been trying to get booked on the show. Now you would think that this would be the perfect catalyst for him to get booked, by becoming a surprise entrant, and winning the whole thing. If you think about it, all the cards line up, right? He has the storyline going on, he just recently signed a contract with Ring Of Honor, this is the perfect spot for him… The weird thing is that he is hosting a ALL IN viewing party an hour away from the venue. So, you can’t have the host of the viewing party not being their right? I don’t know.
Prediction: My heart says Flip Gordon, but my brain says Colt Cabana.
ALL IN – Live on the Fite TV App, PPV, and available free for Honor Club VIP Members.
Madison Rayne vs. Britt Baker vs. Chelsea Green vs. Tessa Blanchard
Prediction: Tessa Blanchard
Honestly, I don’t know much about Britt Baker or Chelsea Green, but I’m familiar with Tessa Blanchard and Madison Rayne. These women have a lot of pressure on their shoulders. They are the only all-women’s match booked on the show as of now. Like I said before, I’m familiar with Rayne and Blanchard, and have heard nothing but good things about Green and Baker, so I have no reason to believe that this match won’t be entertaining. So, I’m looking forward to this match. I’m going with Blanchard, because seems like the safest choice. She has been making waves for the past couple years, and is probably the most popular women’s wrestler not in the WWE. So she seems like an easy pick.
Joey Janela vs. Hangman Page
Prediction: Joey Janela
It’s too bad that Famous Dick Wrestler Joey Ryan couldn’t been in this match considering he dead and all… So I guess Joey Janela is a suitable replacement. Jokes aside, I think this match will have all the shenanigans. I think it would be funny for Famous Dick Wrestler Joey Ryan to go full-on Undertaker, and cost Hangman Page the match by giving his dick power to Janela. This match should be comedy gold.
Christopher Daniels vs. Stephen Amell
Prediction: Christopher Daniels
This is an interesting match to put on this card. Stephen made his wrestling debut at WWE SummerSlam 2015, and since then has wrestled one other time in a tag team match with Bullet Club in Ring of Honor. So putting a celebrity who has only wrestled 2 other times in a match on your first big PPV event is a risky move and has a big time chance of backfiring. With that said, Stephen Amell is in the ring with WRESTLING LEGEND Christopher Daniels. So while I’m a bit skeptical that Stephen can put on a great match in his first singles match, Christopher Daniels will take care of him and get the best out of him. The build to this match has been pretty solid. There have been a couple promos from the Fallen Angel that have been some of the best promos I have heard recently. With that said, they haven’t done a good job of presenting Amell as a babyface. His promos have been a bit heelish. So it’s kind of odd that they would present him as a babyface I fully expect the crowd to cheer Christopher Daniels. Stephen will get his work in, but I can’t see them putting him over Christopher Daniels in his first singles match. I don’t think the crowd would enjoy that.
Marty Scurll vs. Kazuchika Okada
Prediction: Kazuchika Okada
My prediction for this match is that it will be the Sleeper Match of the Night. Marty Scurll is a fantastic worker, and Okada is the fucking man. This has all the right ingredients for a masterful match. The storyline going into this match is that people have been doubting that Scurll can compete with Okada due to the size advantage, being that Scurll is a junior heavyweight and Okada is a heavyweight. So I think the match will play out exact how the build has. Okada will beat him down mercifully, but Scurll will just come back for more and more. I think this match will be Marty Scurll’s coming out party. This will really show what he can do inside that ring. That he is more than just a comedy wrestler. With that said, Marty will put up a valiant effort, but ultimately will fall to the Rain Maker.
Six-Man Tag Match
Fenix, Bandido, and Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. The Golden Elite(Kota Ibushi, and the Young Bucks)
Prediction: The Golden Elite
This should be a fun match. This will probably be the most indy-riffic match on the card. I’m fully expecting all three members of the Golden Elite to get their time in the ring with Rey. I’m not to familiar with Fenix and Badido, but I have heard good things. This match probably wont be anything earth shattering, but it will be fun to see The Young Bucks team with Kota without Kenny being there. I don’t really have much to say about this match. Other than it should be fun.
ROH World Title
Jay Lethal(c) vs. Over Budget Battle Royale winner
Prediction: Jay Lethal
Whoever wins the battle royale, I have no doubt that the ROH world title match will be a great match. It will be interesting to see if Jay Lethal dresses up as Black Machismo(if the last BTE episode is any indication). With that said, Jay Lethal is taking the win.
Kenny Omega vs. Pentagón Jr.
Prediction: Kenny Omega
Kenny was hoping to get some no-name up-and-comer in the middle of the card, then his friends had to lay this news on him. Poor Kenny. With that said, the crowd will probably be going ape shit for this match. As far as I know, this is a first-time ever dream match. I was kind of hoping they would put the IWGP Heavyweight title on the line, but I don’t think it really matters. This match is already being touted as the match of the night and hasn’t even happened yet. Crazy. I’m definitely looking forward to this match. It will be interesting to see if the crowd is split between these two wrestlers. It should be epic.
NWA World Championship
Nick Aldis(c) vs. Cody
Prediction: Nick Aldis
Cody Rhodes will be competing for the same championship that his father Dusty competed for years ago. In front of a sold out crowd of over 10,000 people, it too bad that Dusty isn’t alive to see it. So it would be a romantic thought to have ALL IN end with Cody winning the NWA Championship for the first time. With that said, I don’t think it’s going to happen. Cody seems to have a lot of pride, and I have doubts that he would want to put himself over in the main event of a show that he himself has produced. It just doesn’t seem like his style. Though, this is probably my toughest pick. So I’m looking forward to see what the former WWE Superstar and Former TNA Superstar can do in that ring. See if they can end off the night just right.
If you don’t have plans to watch this show, MAKE PLANS TO WATCH THIS SHOW. If you love pro wrestling, this is a must see PPV event and I can’t wait for it. It should be a great night of wrestling. Also, apparently, there one match that has yet to be announced yet.
